The 19th Azerbaijan International IT and Telecommunications exhibition Bakutel 2013 will be the largest in the event’s history and coincides with the country’s ‘Year of ICT’, an initiative of President, Ilham Aliyev.
The event will take place from 2nd to 5th December at the Baku Expo Center and will feature almost 300 companies from more than 25 countries. 15 countries including Spain, Canada and France will be promoting their technologies on national stands, while groups from Afghanistan, Italy and the USA will participate for the first time.

The Smithsonian’s Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation will open its first permanent public home—the Lemelson Hall of Invention and Innovation—at the National Museum of American History July 1. The Hall will feature “Places of Invention,” a signature 3,500 square-foot exhibition examining hotspots of invention throughout history; Draper Spark!Lab, a hands-on space for children aged 6 to 12; and “Inventive Minds,” a small gallery that will introduce the work of the Lemelson Center.

At Munich’s real estate exhibition last week, Russia’s leading e-commerce company, Ulmart, hosted a “working breakfast” to discuss the nuances and intricacies of investing in Russia today during times of heightened international tension.

TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference 2015, the 20th event for the duty free & travel retail industry in Asia Pacific, closed on 14th May in Singapore after a very successful week.
With occupied exhibition space topping previous years at 9,118 m2 – up 9% on 2014 - and 292 exhibiting companies present (+12%), of which 73 were new to the show, there was a huge variety of products on display for the benefit of visiting buyers and agents.
Visitor numbers were considered satisfactory by organisers TFWA in a year which has been challenging for the duty free and travel retail industry, with aviation accidents, a new approach to gift giving and luxury consumption among the all-important Chinese travellers, financial instability and political tension in several countries and the resulting slowdown in the growth of air passenger traffic.

Opening today, AVATAR fans in Taiwan will be the first to experience the new, interactive exhibition, AVATAR: Discover Pandora, inspired by James Cameron’s blockbuster film. For the second time Consumer Electronics China (CE China) is opening its doors at the Convention and Exhibition Center in Shenzhen, China. The premiere in 2016 attracted more than 11,500 visitors when over 150 exhibitors presented their latest products and innovations. With international brands Bosch, Siemens, Huawei, HTC, Midea and Gree amongst others, numbers are meant to be exceeded this year as the big crowd on opening day shows.
After the opening Ceremony, decision makers from BSH (Bosch/Siemens), VIVE, HUAWEI and Tmall shared professional insights on consumer electronics, home appliances and related industries in a newly introduced keynote program.
