New York based Aways Away definitely has a unique sound that is best described as punk/indie rock. We caught up with them at their show at Webster Hall in NYC and got the scoop. Lead singer, Evan De Augustinis feels he was meant for the industry, “I’ve been playing music my whole life, I grew up with music, my father played in bands his whole life…music is in my blood,” he says. What I have here is another soundtrack style video. I've been contemplating for some time to feature some of my pencil drawings that I had done between 2000 - 2005 after all my musical gear got ripped off. Drawing is a lot cheaper and it gave me a chance to explore new dimensions in what would otherwise be mere sketching. I wanted to see how far I could take pencil work to a finalized portrait styled product in place of paints or pastels. I'm using Photo Story 3 for my video in place of Windows Movie Maker just to get a feel for something new. One thing that I have learned about drawing though is that I have a lot more fun making music.

I've been really anxious to take another stab at making an Electronic song with the little that I have to work with and still make it BUMP like a Bungee Jump. I'm patting myself on the back for this one because so far, I'm the only one who has heard it and I'm my own biggest fan. I said to myself "Steve...... This bump's like a bungee jump." ...... Naturally, I didn't answer myself back so..... Yeah..... Everything's cool..... WOW !!!!! .... This really Bump's ...... That's because I make it Bump ...... With my Bumpermatic .... " BUMP .....
