Dubai Fountain is a record-setting choreographed fountain system set on
the 30-acre manmade Burj Khalifa Lake, at the center of the Downtown
Dubai development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was designed by
WET Design, the California-based company responsible for the fountains
at the Bellagio Hotel Lake in Las Vegas. Illuminated by 6,600 lights
and 25 colored projectors, it is 275 m (902 ft) long and shoots water
150 m (490 ft) into the air (equivalent to a 50-story building),
accompanied by a range of classical to contemporary Arabic and world
music. It was built at a cost of AED 800 million (USD 218 million) and
attracts thousands of tourists on a daily basis.
This is one of those projects where I just wanted to see how far I could go in the direction of symphonic music. I found this to be one of my greater challenges. I think it has a unique contrast from a realistic sound to perhaps electronic. Either way I'm not going to enjoy trying to decide exactly what genre this it when applicable.

The best of our city in summer is back with a vengeance as Sydney Festival returns in its 39th year. 2015 will see a spectacular program of free and ticketed events spanning contemporary and classical music, theatre, dance, visual arts, circus, cabaret and much more.
There’s no better way to get into the swing of summer in Sydney than by enjoying a free outdoor concert in the heart of the city, with 60,000 of your closest friends. The Domain concert series return with four large-scale concerts including a special Summer Sounds in The Domain headlined by South American superstar Seu Jorge whose samba sounds will kick-start summer in Brazilian style.
Sydney Festival 2015 will see 18 world premiere performances including Masquerade based on the iconic children’s book by Kit Williams, and 11 Australian premiere works including Quebec’s Cirque Alfonse in Timber!, Roysten Abel’s newest work The Kitchen, and a taste of Belgian theatrical flair in Kiss & Cry a dance work for a duo of hands.
This July 4th, America’s national Independence Day celebration kicks off our country’s 240th birthday, as A CAPITOL FOURTH on PBS welcomes back Emmy Award-winning television personality Tom Bergeron (DANCING WITH THE STARS) to host the festivities. Broadcast live on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, the all-star musical extravaganza puts viewers front and center for the greatest display of fireworks anywhere in the nation. A CAPITOL FOURTH will feature performances by: legendary Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Smokey Robinson; platinum selling recording star and Grammy Award-winner Kenny Loggins; multi-platinum selling singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw; Award-winning country vocalist Cassadee Pope; actress and singer Amber Riley (GLEE), who is set to star in DREAMGIRLS THE MUSICAL on London’s West End; musical prodigy and classical crossover star Jackie Evancho; Tony Award-winning Broadway and television star Sutton Foster (YOUNGER, GILMORE GIRLS); Grammy Award-winning gospel/adult contemporary superstar Yolanda Adams; and the cast of the smash hit Broadway musical ON YOUR FEET! the inspiring true story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan; with the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of top pops conductor Jack Everly. The gala anniversary celebration will be headlined by music legend Barry Manilow who will open and close the concert broadcast with a special patriotic medley. Broadcast live on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, the star spangled party will also feature performances by: the most successful country music group of all time, Alabama; Grammy nominated singer/songwriter, with over 70 million album sales, Nicole Scherzinger; five-time Grammy nominee, CMA Award winner and multi-instrumentalist Hunter Hayes; vocal powerhouse Meghan Linsey (THE VOICE); Grammy award-winning and multi-platinum selling band, fronted by the Founder of the Dance Revolution, KC and the Sunshine Band; world renowned piano virtuoso Lang Lang; and inspirational classical cross-over global star and Irish tenor Ronan Tynan; with the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of top pops conductor Jack Everly.
