According to the 2016 Franchise Business Economic Outlook report, employment growth in the franchise sector will continue to outpace the growth of employment in all businesses economy-wide, as it has in each of the last six years. The franchise industry is set to grow by 1.7 percent in 2016 which added over 13,000 new franchise businesses, generating over $900 billion in economic output and 278,000 new jobs in 2015.
Kumon, the world’s largest education franchise, continues to flourish as it surpassed company milestones in 2015 with nearly 300,000 students enrolled in its math and reading programs nationwide.

Messe Frankfurt is continuing to expand its presence in Russia with the acquisition of a 50 percent stake in Comtrans and Autotrans by its Russian subsidiary Messe Frankfurt RUS. The remaining 50 percent will be assumed by ITE Expo OOO, the Russian subsidiary of the ITE Group. The new Joint Venture organizing company is ITEMF Expo AO.
Comtrans – which has had the status of International Commercial Vehicle Auto Show since 2011 – will present the latest models of modern motor trucks, buses, trailers and their parts from September 8-12 at Crocus Expo in Moscow.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company today announced NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr., 26-time NASCAR winner, will be the featured expert who chooses Goodyear tires on and off the track in a series of broadcast, digital and print ads.

Georgia Power today marked another year of safe construction and significant milestones at the Vogtle nuclear expansion site. The new units are currently scheduled to go into service in June 2019 (Unit 3) and June 2020 (Unit 4) and the remaining projected customer rate impact is approximately 2.5 percent, an average of less than 1 percent per year through completion.
In addition, the company’s recent completion of the settlement process between the project co-owners (Georgia Power, Oglethorpe Power Corporation, the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia and Dalton Utilities) and the project’s contractors (Westinghouse and CB&I) settles all claims previously in litigation with the contractors, reaffirms the current in-service dates, adds additional contractual protections and positions Westinghouse and its affiliates as the primary contractor over the project.

SunPower (NASDAQ:SPWR) has once again raised the bar by introducing the highest-power solar panels available today for the residential market. In the United States, the company has launched its Next Generation Technology home solar panel called A-Series, delivering 400 and 415 watts of power. In Europe and Australia, homeowners can also now order a 400-watt solar panel from SunPower called Maxeon® 3. "To create favorable conditions for foreign tourists, last year Kazakhstan abolished the visa regime with 20 developed countries. This was done unilaterally. Starting from January 1, 2017, countries with visa-free access will include the OECD members, Malaysia, Monaco, the UAE and Singapore," said Mr. Zhoshybayev in his Paris report.

Early in this quest we’re seeing preliminary trends, like the role health plays in a full life in Shanghai and the importance of family in New York. We’ll have to see if this is confirmed as we go global with our research. The one thing that is becoming apparent is just how personal it gets when we talk to people about life.
