Epoch Everlasting Play (EEP) kicked off the holiday shopping season with a special pop-up experience to celebrate the retail launch of the globally popular Calico Critters new Town series. The series, first introduced in 1985, features beautiful, richly detailed animal figures that live like humans with a focus on “Nature, Family and Love.” The collection is now available at specialty stores nationwide and online at Amazon.
The world of Calico Critters came to life at Stella’s Exclusive Town Tea at Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon in New York City. The dazzling interactive day of play featured life-size replicas of the playset fun including a chance to step inside Stella’s Designer Studio, taste testing at the Chocolate Lounge and Gelato stands and a first-ever look at the new Calico Critters animated series debuting on Netflix on November 1st in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Other countries in Europe and Asia will launch in their respective languages on December 1, 2018.

Unprecedented planning by state and local authorities, law enforcement and the insurance industry established what is being called a national model for protecting the public from fly-by-night contractors in the aftermath of a natural disaster.
According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), preparation in advance of the F-5 tornado that devastated the city of Moore and surrounding areas in May 2013 resulted in a well-coordinated effort to ensure that roofers and other contractors who swarmed into the area in the hours and days after the storm were properly licensed, insured and authorized to work in the area.
Local police assisted the Oklahoma Insurance Department Fraud Unit in patrolling the area and keeping suspected fraudulent out-of-state contractors from doing work unless all protocols were followed.

Imagine being diagnosed with one of the most rare and aggressive forms of breast cancer, given a five percent chance to live and told having children will never be an option. Southern California local Kommah McDowell was told just that— and then she went to City of Hope.
It is estimated that almost 40 percent of men and women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer sometime during their lifetime. Kommah, who was diagnosed at age 29, now has her health and her son, thanks to discoveries made at City of Hope, where scientists and doctors turn laboratory breakthroughs into treatments that defeat cancer.
Today, the nonprofit research and comprehensive cancer center near Los Angeles is rolling out a new initiative that builds on its legacy of discovery to let people know that City of Hope not only offers a uniquely patient-centric, integrated approach to care, but also with the help of donors and volunteers, it is pursuing research that will change the future of medicine.

Olympic gold medalist Dominique Dawes vaulted the program into the spotlight this morning, kicking off the initiative at one of the 50 Clubs, the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem in New York City. Master of the Chinese martial arts Douwe Geluk from Apeldoorn city in the Netherlands participated in the Flemish Open Martial Arts Championships in Aarschot City, Belgium. This event was organised by the Vlaamse Wu Shu Federatie, Jurgen van Horenbeek and Said Belabed.
Master Douwe Geluk participated in the internal martial arts category and in this video you can see some of his Tai Chi Chuan skills he displayed at the contests.
