Following the successful introduction of Volvo’s Drive-E Powertrain range in 2013, Volvo’s powertrain team once again demonstrates its technological leadership in emission-reducing turbo technology.
“When we launched the Drive-E powertrain family, our aim was to deliver the most advanced 4-cylinder engines in the industry based on emissions and fuel consumption relative to performance and drivability. We knew that 320 hp in our petrol configuration was just a starting point. Global safety equipment manufacturer MSA Safety Incorporated (NYSE: MSA) today announced that its new jet-style fire helmet, called the Cairns® XF1, has received third-party certification as compliant to the 2018 edition of the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) 1971 performance standards for structural firefighting. It is also certified as compliant to the 2013 edition of the NFPA’s 1951 performance standards for technical rescue. With this certification, MSA can begin shipping orders for the Cairns XF1 immediately.

Leading Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) operator Thuraya Telecommunications today unveiled a new generation of SatSleeve models, offering greater choice, improved quality and a new hotspot option.
When SatSleeve was launched in 2013 it pioneered the “bring your own device” (BYOD) concept in the satellite industry. Now Thuraya goes further with two new models, and has identified a clear consumer target market for the range, running alongside core government, media, energy, and NGO sectors.
SatSleeve+ and SatSleeve Hotspot will appeal to travellers, adventurers and outdoor sportspeople, or simply to consumers who want the assurance that their smartphone will connect even when terrestrial networks are unavailable or damaged.
Thuraya will market SatSleeve+ and SatSleeve Hotspot through existing distribution partners; innovative agreements it has developed with mobile network operators (MNOs) in key markets; and new channels generated through online retailer Expansys.

Ulmart’s stunning growth continues unabated as sales for the first six months of 2014 were up 31% in a year-on-year comparison. Sequential quarterly growth increased by 47%.
Ulmart’s half year results put the company at just below GMV of $610 million (VAT included). The company is forecasting GMV of $1.6 billion for the whole year which would put year-end sales at 33% higher than 2013.
Ulmart’s hybrid model which allows customer access to company’s fulfillments centers (currently there are 29 in the European part of Russia) continues to be a disruptive element in e-retail. Due to the particularities of the Russian infrastructure, reliance on last-mile delivery, the obsession of so many other world e-commerce leaders, is simply not a profit-creating option in Russia.

The 29-day 15th West Lake International Expo Hangzhou, China, which is co-organized by the China National Tourism Administration, General Administration of Sport of China and Zhejiang Provincial Government and hosted by Hangzhou Municipal Government, will kick off on October 12.
