On Saturday, June 3, the latest wonder in the MSC Cruises fleet, MSC Meraviglia was christened in a glittering ceremony by international screen legend and godmother of all of MSC Cruises’ ships, Sophia Loren. At 171,598 GRT and with guest capacity of 5,714 (4,488 at double occupancy), MSC Meraviglia is the biggest ship to be built by a European ship owner, MSC Cruises, and also the biggest ship to come into service in 2017.
MSC Cruises, the Swiss-based world’s largest privately-owned cruise line and brand market leader in Europe, South America and South Africa, hosted the glamorous, high-profile event in Le Havre, with entertainment from top international performers and an exclusive gala dinner in the company of special guests, authorities, key partners from the travel industry, global media and top management from MSC Cruises and its parent company MSC Group. Primrose Schools, a national preschool franchise company, is on a positive growth track that now spans six years. In 2016, the company saw year-over-year revenue growth of 13 percent from 2015, strengthening its brand leadership position in the highly competitive early childhood education franchise industry.
Primrose has 342 locations around the country that provide high-quality early education and care to children and families in 27 states. Schools had an average occupancy rate of 87.7 percent, as measured in May 2016. As part of a yearlong 75th anniversary celebration, Crowe CEO Jim Powers challenged personnel to volunteer 75,000 hours in their communities, more than double the number of volunteer hours from the previous year.
“Not only did our people meet the 75,000-hour challenge, they crushed it,” said Powers. “By the end of the challenge, we volunteered 82,000 hours, the equivalent of providing 39 full-time people at the nonprofits we served.” Two-thirds of personnel volunteered during the year, well above the industry norm of 31 percent. Using data from Independent Sector, the volunteer hours translate to an economic impact of more than $2 million for the nonprofits.

GAC Motor has hosted the first launch of new cars in China at the 17th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2017) hosted from April 19 to 28 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
