Frost & Sullivan recently published a white paper, Virtualization for Midsize Businesses: Keep Your Foot on the Accelerator, which identifies the benefits midsize businesses gain through holistic adoption of virtualization technologies.
To overcome the many recurring challenges pertaining to data centers, there are streams of benefits virtualization across servers, storage, networks, and desktops can deliver, especially for midsize businesses with heightened strategic priorities in innovation and revenue growth. This shift to virtualization increases capacity and improves effectiveness with greater speed, flexibility and reliability than possible in non-virtualized environments.

The disaster at Japan’s Fukushima nuclear power station has made eminently clear that mankind has to look for alternative ways of meeting its energy needs – and quickly. Because demand for energy continues to rise. Today, every second person on the planet lives in a city. In Europe, this figure has passed the 70 percent mark. Urban centers around the globe account for over three quarters of worldwide energy consumption. That’s why the experts are working all-out on developing so-called “Metropolitan Solutions” – environmentally friendly energy supply and utility services concepts for today’s large urban centers.

As the season turns from fall to winter, many holiday displays replace pop-up flu vaccine clinics. Yet flu season is not over — it has barely begun. In the 35 years that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has monitored influenza, February has been the most common month for peak flu activity, including during the 2010-2011 flu season. To share this important information and educate families around the country, Families Fighting Flu is joining the CDC once again during the annual National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW) — an observance to promote the importance of flu vaccination as the single best preventative measure against this disease.

What can turn last year’s hottest day dress into this season’s rocking party frock? A heel. A clutch. And a bit of imagination. Clothes are a great joy but it’s accessories that keep us interested. And interesting.

Computerized tomographic (CT) colonography (CTC), also known as virtual colonoscopy, is comparable to standard colonoscopy in its ability to accurately detect cancer and precancerous polyps in people ages 65 and older, according to a paper published online today in Radiology. This is consistent with results of the ACRIN National CT Colonography Trial, published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2008, which demonstrated that CT colonography can serve as a primary colorectal cancer screening option for adults ages 50 and older, but did not specifically break out data for participants ages 65 and older included in the overall analysis. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have deferred coverage for CT colonography, primarily citing a lack of data on the exam’s performance in Medicare-eligible recipients ages 65 and older.

http://www.colocationamerica.com/data_center/tier-standards-overview.htm - Based on The Uptime Institute data tier standards, there are four tiers that classify the site-level infrastructure of data centers as a means of evaluations. Understanding the data tier standards is a necessary task when considering a hosting service. If you need a short term, cheap, and fast data center, go with Tier 1 and 2 Data Centers. For more long term, dependable, and fault tolerant hosting services, seek a Tier 3 and 4 Data Center.
