A new video series, starring five of the most recognized registered dietitians in the country, debuts with 15 new regionally inspired recipes featuring grapes from California, plus tips for healthy eating and entertaining.
Shot in each dietitian’s hometown, the videos invite viewers into the kitchen to see the ease with which grapes from California can be used to add a punch of flavor, texture, color and health to meals and snacks. “From yogurt power bowls with California grapes to grape sushi rolls to raw root vegetable and grape salads the recipes are new, diverse, and delicious,” said Jeff Cardinale, commission vice president of communications. “And the videos show the many ways grapes from California are a simple, healthy, tasty addition to meals, snacks; truly one ingredient that can change everything.”

McDonald’s USA today announced its 2013 Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour raised more than $83,000—the most the tour has ever garnered—in support of local Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Chapters. With its seventh year wrapped, Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour, a free national concert series featuring a lineup of gospel greats, is designed to bring service, encouragement and entertainment to communities and emphasize the importance of giving back. This year’s nine-city tour, hosted by gospel artist/comedienne Vickie Winans, kicked off May 9 in Washington, D.C., and featured gospel music heavy-hitters Smokie Norful and son Ashton, Lecrae and John P. Kee. Tamela Mann also performed in select cities.

Americans have a bit of a superiority complex when it comes to grading their financial prowess. Genworth’s latest Psychology of Financial Planning research reveals that more than half (52%) of Americans gave themselves an A or B grade on their saving and investing knowledge, while giving the average American a failing grade of D. What nearly everyone (97%) can agree on, however, is the importance of financial literacy and the fact that they don’t have enough (88%). In fact, 58 percent of respondents blamed lack of financial education as a top reason why pre-retirees don’t have enough money saved for retirement.
