Finnair and Finnish design house Marimekko are teaming up to enhance the air travel experience with a new design partnership. From spring 2013 all Finnair aircraft will feature a Marimekko for Finnair collection of textiles and tableware, featuring Marimekko’s classic patterns. The Marimekko for Finnair collection is specially designed to add a light and fresh visual and tactile dimension to the onboard experience, while lightening the airline’s carbon footprint as well.

Jingdezhen, a medium-sized city in China’s Jiangxi province also known as the Porcelain Capital of China, is well recognized for its efforts in protecting an important piece of humanity’s intangible cultural heritage. A group led by UNESCO consultant Emma Chen Hoefler, simultaneously the vice president of the folk art international organization IVO, the president of IVO China and an expert in the field on the protection of cultural artifacts with intangible value, paid a visit to Jingdezhen between the 8th and the 10th June, 2013, where she conducted field research on the city’s efforts in protecting its heritage.

Many large-scale international conventions and exhibitions were held in Chengdu during 2013, bringing a notably higher level of international recognition to the city’s convention and exhibition industry and efficiently promoting the development of trade and commerce across the city. During this year's Fortune Global Forum that also took place in Chengdu, Global 500 companies and other well-known multinationals signed 74 investment deals, bringing in an aggregate investment of 112 billion yuan (approx. $US18 billion). During the 12th World Chinese Entrepreneur Convention, another Chengdu-based event, 47 major investment promotion contracts with a total value of 33.6 billion yuan (approx. $US5.4 billion) were signed.
