New York City looks a little greener these days thanks in part to biodiesel. This renewable, soy-based fuel powers Big Apple vehicles, furnaces and generators year-round and can be found throughout the city from Central Park to John F. Kennedy Airport.
The New York Parks Department uses a B20 blend of biodiesel when fueling diesel vehicles and generators, as well as replacing the oil heat for warming their buildings. The department has used strictly B20 in these applications for nearly two and a half years.

SEAT hat nicht nur einen neuen Toledo, sondern auch einen neuen Slogan „Enjoyneering“. Die neue Kompaktklassen-Limousine soll bei Autokäufern für die Entwicklung von Freude sorgen, die ein günstiges und praktisches Auto suchen. Das beginnt schon beim Platzangebot. Obwohl der Toledo wie eine Stufenheck-Limousine wirkt, hat er keine herkömmliche Kofferraum-Klappe. Diese ist wie bei einem Fließheck über der Heckscheibe am Dach angeschlagen und gibt so eine große Öffnung ins Ladeabteil frei. 550 Liter lassen sich so bequem verstauen. Doch nicht nur beim Laderaum kann der neue Toledo überzeugen. Viel Platz im Innenraum bietet er dank 2,60 Meter Radstand auch auf der Rücksitzbank. Weil der Innenraum recht hoch ausgefallen ist, fühlen sich auch Mitfahrer über 1,80 Meter kommod untergebracht. Die Benzinmotoren-Palette reicht von 75 bis 122 PS, dazu gesellt sich ein Diesel, der 105 PS leistet.

After the press conference I was talking with people that work for Jeep. Die ersten reinen Golf-Stromer sind Im Volkswagen Werk Wolfsburg vor einigen Tagen von der Montagelinie gerollt, im Sommer werden wir die ersten e-Golf dann auf unseren Straßen sehen. VW schließt damit als erster Autohersteller einen Kreis, der - innerhalb einer Baureihe - alle heute relevanten Antriebssysteme - Benziner und Diesel, Erdgas-Variante, Plug-in-Hybrid (GTE) und reiner Elektroantrieb - beinhaltet. Der potentielle Käufer hat also die Qual der Wahl, wobei der neue Stromer es am schwersten haben dürfte. 34.900 Euro sind schließlich ein Wort und auch die noch mangelhafte Ladestationen-Infrastruktur dürfte sich auf die Verkaufslust auswirken. Daran ändert auch nichts, dass der Stromer mit seinem niedrigen Verbrauchswert von 12,7 kWh/100 km mit den Energiekosten knausert und damit im Alltag den Geldbeutel schont - pro 100 Kilometer fallen lediglich 3,28 Euro an.
