Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast was introduced at Six Flags St. Louis today with St. Louis Cardinal and World Series MVP David Freese on-hand for the first official ride. Eighteen members of Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Louis joined Freese for the inaugural launch-ride on the park’s newest twist to one of its most popular thrill rides. Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast sends riders backwards through a 190-foot tunnel, into a 180-degree inversion, then climbs more than 200-feet in the air where they will find themselves suspended, dangling in the air, before repeating the entire chilling experience.

The American Pain Foundation (APF), in partnership with professional baseball player LaTroy Hawkins, acknowledges those suffering from Postherpetic Neuralgia (PHN) today, as it recognizes the second annual PHN Awareness Day. PHN Awareness Day was created to raise awareness to the pain caused by shingles and PHN, also known as after-shingles pain. Shingles is caused by the reactivation of the same virus that causes chickenpox and can affect an individual who has had chickenpox at anytime without warning. More than 90 percent of adults in the United States have had chickenpox, placing them at risk for shingles. Jason Rogers, 12, a 7th grade student at Bondurant Middle School in Frankfort, likes sports and plays football, basketball, baseball and soccer. He also likes math and, if he doesn’t get to play professional sports when he grows up, he wants to be an engineer.
