not simply to hear Maneli play. If you’re considering buying a new
travel guitar, or are easily swayed to make an impulse purchase – be
careful – watching Maneli play the OF420 may just make you pull the
trigger on a new Journey Overhead… next thing you know you’ll be on
holiday picking away in a lounge chair overlooking some splendid view! One
of the greatest things about my job is the people I get to meet. Before
we even launched Journey Instruments, I saw Maneli Jamal’s “Movement
III” from his Ziur album on Youtube and I was totally floored. I
immediately bought his album and then sought him out for private
lessons on Skype (And learned a bastardized version of his ”Most
Glorious Day” song from the same album. Ha!). Though I had to quit
lessons due to the demands of running two companies and having my
second child, I kept in touch and have just loved watching him perform
and grow as an artist. Here we are 3 years later, and I’m humbled to

Today, Mark I Love SPAM Benson – who last year legally changed his name as a declaration of his love for the brand - wed his fiancée, Anne Mousley, marking the first wedding to be performed at the world-famous SPAM® Museum. Applications are now open for the interview of a lifetime – a 10-day world tour - launched by Grant’s Whisky as part of its search for a new Global Brand Ambassador for 2018. In a job interview like no other, three final candidates will each travel to a trio of countries, ranging from Colombia to Poland, India and South Africa equipped with a suitcase full of Grant’s to share with the friends they’re yet to meet.
Their journey will echo the legendary trip taken in 1909 by Charles Grant Gordon, the son in law of the founder of Grant’s Whisky, William Grant. The brand invited three final candidates to travel the world with a suitcase full of whisky on an epic 10-day journey as part of The Greatest Job Interview in the World. Their journeys echoed the legendary trip undertaken in 1909 by Charles Grant Gordon, son-in-law of company founder William Grant.

The opportunity captured imaginations all over the world, generating almost 5,000 applications from candidates in 103 countries. Hopefuls were initially narrowed down to 20 who were flown from 13 countries to attend ‘The Mixer’ event in Dufftown, Scotland, the brand’s spiritual home. After a series of challenges, three finalists – Amy, a PE teacher living in Madrid; Danny, a whisky barman from Edinburgh and Linda, a radio presenter from Johannesburg - were then each sent to three different worldwide destinations to ‘live the job’ for ten days.
