Many students leave the house without eating breakfast in the morning and at noon fast food restaurants and bakeries near schools enjoy the fact that they are becoming more and more popular. In times of increasing numbers of all-day schools it is time for things to change, more and more schools are convinced of this too. School cafeterias are the logical consequence. But the implementation is not so easy. French Fries and Hot dogs or greasy burgers definitely don’t help concentration in the classroom. Sluggish and tired students are the result.

Every dog has his day. And yesterday, Atlanta-area dogs sure had theirs, as its first Dream Dog Park was unveiled by Beneful® brand dog food in Johns Creek, Ga.
The entire Johns Creek dog-loving community has awaited this day since last September, when their community dog park was awarded a $500,000 renovation from the Beneful® brand after local resident Pat McNeely and his Siberian Husky Koda were named Grand Prize Winner in the Beneful® WagWorld® Dream Dog Park Contest. Since then, Pat and Koda’s dream ideas have served as inspiration for the renovation that was managed by the Beneful Dream Team, led by TV personality and design expert Jason Cameron and pet expert and bestselling author Arden Moore. The Dream Team duo have worked together to transform the Newtown Dog Park into an enviable adventure destination for dogs and owners. Some of the park’s most interactive and unique elements include a giant bone-shaped ramp with tunnels, two water splash pads and a running trail, all of which were put to good use yesterday as local dogs and their best buddies turned out to celebrate at a special unveiling event.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products, internationally renowned dog behavior expert Cesar Millan, and Scooby-Doo were joined by over a thousand dogs and their loyal owners for the Scooby-Doo and Cesar Millan National Family Pack Walk on Sunday, October 30, at Lake Balboa Park in Van Nuys, CA. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event were donated to the Millan Foundation, which strives to create and deliver community humane education programs and promote animal welfare by supporting the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused and abandoned dogs.

DR Z: Zoinks! There are few things I think about other than lightbulbs. Sometimes candles but mainly lightbulbs. Big lightbulbs, little lightbulbs, compact fluorescent lightbulbs, lightbulbs jokes, and especially new lightbulbs. Is there anything more exciting than screwing in a new lightbulb and flicking the switch for the first time?? The warm glow of tungsten. The futuristic sheen of a four foot fluorescent is something that makes me feel like Luke Skywalker choosing his lightsaber for the first time. But I digress..If you like light you might like me.
