A new study from T.J.Maxx, one of the nation’s leading off-price retailers, in partnership with Dr. Hazel Clark, Research Chair of Fashion at Parsons The New School for Design, discovered that 87 percent of women said they are not controlled by fashion, but that they control fashion, using it as a tool to express their personality (77 percent) and individuality (74 percent). Beginning today, America can click and choose which Web search results it prefers by participating in the Bing It On Challenge, available at Bing.com. Based on research that indicates people prefer Bing Web search results over Google, Bing is inviting consumers to come and see for themselves with an online test designed to show that the quality of Bing’s Web search results has surpassed Google’s. Although most people identify themselves as Google searchers, an independent study commissioned by Microsoft Corp. shows people chose Bing Web search results over Google nearly 2-to-1 in blind comparison tests. Given those findings, Bing decided it’s time to let people see for themselves that there is a better option in search. New research has revealed that the use of Antimicrobial Copper surfaces in hospital rooms can reduce the number of healthcare-acquired infections (HAIs) by 58% as compared to patients treated in Intensive Care Units with non-copper touch surfaces. In the United States, 1 out of every 20 hospital patients develops an HAI, resulting in an estimated 100,000 deaths per year. Although numerous strategies have been developed to decrease these infections, Antimicrobial Copper is the only strategy that works continuously, has been scientifically proven to be effective and doesn’t depend on human behavior, according to a recently published study in the SHEA Journal of Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology. According to the National Fire Protection Association, nuisance alarms or “false” alarms, are the leading cause for intentionally disabled smoke alarms in America. Unfortunately, each fire season also brings reports of serious injuries and deaths, and roughly two-thirds of home fire deaths happen in houses with no smoke alarms or working smoke alarms. A recent study from the University of Maryland’s School of Fire Protection Engineering shows that consumers now have a better choice when it comes to reducing nuisance alarms in their home. The new, patented IoPhic® smoke and fire alarm from Universal Security Instruments using smart microprocessor technology was proven to be more resistant to false or nuisance alarms than competitors. In 2011 we started out as a non-profit organization in Shreveport, Louisiana. We’ve since begun dedicating ourselves to helping those in the Memphis, Tennessee, area with job preparation training and utility payment assistance. We operate a youth development program that collects school uniforms, coats and supplies for children who are in need – and that’s only the beginning. We also offer Bible study for those who desire to be nourished by the everlasting Word. You see, we believe that our services all go hand-in-hand. When you know, understand and follow God’s Word, you’ll see opportunities that were previously invisible to your eyes. You’ll find your calling in life. You’ll be able to successfully support your household. And your children will know that there’s always hope in God’s hands. It starts with one simple step, and we’re aiming to be that catalyst for change. Would You Like to be One of God’s Helping Hands? We’re always in need of donations of time and financial resources. Contact us at (901) 235-3463, or email contactus@wearethehandsofgod.org to see how you can help. www.wearethehandsofgod.org
