With the critical success and recognition of I Am Shelby Lynne, she was awarded the Best New Artist GRAMMY® in 2000 – after nearly 13 years in the business. Their meat is usually shipped straight to China, where the turtle populations have long been depleted by the medicine and soup industries.
Because it takes ten years for a single one of these turtles to grow up, this hunt is unsustainable.
