The Annenberg Space for Photography is offering additional programming to enrich the BEAUTY CULTURE exhibit including digital films, which expand on the themes of the exhibit; the BEAUTY CULTURE Digital Salon, where guests can experiment with virtual makeovers; and the IRIS Nights lecture series, presenting top fashion, beauty and pop culture photographers and editors.
BEAUTY CULTURE is a photographic exploration of how feminine beauty is defined, challenged and revered in modern society. The exhibit features works from iconic photographers such as Albert Watson, Bert Stern, Herb Ritts, Man Ray, Jean-Paul Goude, ORLAN, Guy Bourdin, Horst, Melvin Sokolsky, Ellen von Unwerth, Lillian Bassman, Matthew Rolston, Philippe Halsman, Lauren Greenfield, Susan Anderson, Tyen and Carrie May Weems. The Annenberg Space for Photography is pleased to announce programming coinciding with “THE YEAR” -an exhibit featuring winning photos from the 67th annual Pictures of the Year International competition. For the second consecutive year, the Photography Space will play host to the prestigious photojournalism competition, exhibiting stirring images from around the world in both print and digital galleries. The Photography Space will also offer two digital feature presentations, weekly IRIS Nights lecture series and a slideshow night presenting special photography related to the themes in the exhibit.

SCAD’s second annual deFINE ART, which ran Feb. 22 - 26, attracted thousands of visitors. deFINE ART featured lectures by prominent figures in the art world, special exhibitions, commissions, student showcases, performances and other events, all of which were free and open to the public.
As one of the highlights of this year’s programming, deFINE ART honored performance artist Marina Abramović for her groundbreaking work and influence on contemporary art. Her keynote lecture was given at SCAD’s locations in both Savannah and Atlanta. Abramović’s solo exhibition remains on view through April 3 at the university's Pinnacle Gallery in Savannah, featuring three videos and an iconic photographic series.

Inspired by its surrounding southwestern landscape, the Health Sciences Education Building (HSEB) at The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix is one of the most innovative construction projects in the United States utilizing predominately recycled copper. Using nearly 6,000 copper panels and more than 10,000 copper parts, this 268,000 square-foot building consists of six stories of administration and faculty offices, lecture halls, learning studios, flexible classrooms, clinical suites, gross anatomy facilities, laboratories and conference rooms.
