Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) today announced it has achieved a significant milestone in transceiver technology by becoming the first company to successfully demonstrate 25-Gbps transceiver performance in programmable logic. Altera achieved this milestone in its 28-nm transceiver test chip, a prototyping platform that Altera is using to succeassfully deploy 28-Gbps transceivers on 28-nm FPGAs. Reaching the 25-Gbps milestone more than doubles the transceiver performance in currently available FPGA solutions, and rivals or exceeds the abilities of competitive ASSP offerings. Zwei Männer in SA-Uniform (Heinz Huber, Georg Schramm) führten fünf Personen (Wolfram Kastner, Edgar Liegl, Brigitta Oberhauser, Hiltraud Pusch-Zilker, Peter Thalheim) mit dem Davidstern durch Münchens Innenstadt. Die Polizei sah in der Aktion eine unangemeldete Demonstration und nahm Kastner und seine sechs Kollegen fest. Vom Hinweis der Veranstalter, daß es sich um eine nicht genehmigungspflichtige Kunstaktion handele, ließen sich die Ordnungshüter nicht beeindrucken.

Honda recently delivered 2013 Fit EV battery-electric vehicles to Google Inc. and Stanford University as a part of the Honda Electric Vehicle Demonstration Program. Along with the city of Torrance, Calif., each participant is now conducting general testing as well as providing specific feedback related to the future introduction of electric vehicles. The Honda Electric Vehicle Demonstration Program participants are the first recipients of the 2013 Fit EV in the United States.
