If you purchased “Wal-Born” – a Walgreens’ brand dietary supplement, the Federal Trade Commission wants you to know that you may be eligible for a refund.
National pharmacy chain Walgreens agreed to pay nearly $6 million in 2010, to settle FTC charges that it deceptively advertised that its “Wal-Born” line could effectively prevent colds, fight germs, and boost the immune system. The money will be used to provide refunds.

There is an update for affected purchasers in this lawsuit about certain vehicle components, as there have been additional Settlements that may affect their rights.
Twelve additional Defendants have agreed to Settlements resolving claims that they fixed the price of certain vehicle components. (The Court previously approved settlements with 11 Defendants, totaling approximately $225 million.) The additional Settlements being presented for Court Approval total approximately $379 million.

Debt is a buzzword for politicians, a burden for students, a necessity for most homeowners and a reality for 70 percent of Americans.
But despite this fact, 30 percent of those in debt have no plan to pay it off, according to a recent survey conducted by Fifth Third Bank (NASDAQ: FITB).
Fifth Third commissioned the national survey to examine the financial beliefs and behaviors of American adults. The results provided a snapshot of our nation’s financial literacy, with 82 percent of respondents citing financial independence as a goal in their lives. The survey also revealed how the three largest generations in America differ in their understanding and management of savings, budgeting, retirement planning and credit.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed sweeping regulations that would require states to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the electricity sector by an average of 30 percent nationally. This costly plan is another step in the administration's policies designed to eliminate low cost and reliable electricity and replace it with more expensive and less reliable sources.
"The rule is a stunning attempt to remake the nation's entire electric grid at great cost to households and businesses across the US. Our manufacturing base will become less competitive because of higher electricity prices. The impact of this regulation will be felt by families as they will spend more to heat and cool their homes. Some of the world’s most famous whisky makers, Johnnie Walker, Bushmills, J&B and Talisker, have harnessed the creative talents of up-and-coming independent film makers around the globe to help inspire people to ‘raise a glass’ to their dads this Father’s Day.
The whisky makers partnered with MOFILM, a global network of more than 45,000 film makers, to seek short films that pay tribute to fathers in a campaign called ‘Raise a glass to your dad’.
MOFILM challenged 20 film makers to create a short piece that told the story of their relationship with their father and how whisky plays a part in that.
