In Budapest, a woman driver takes her car out for a drive immediately after a flood, finding herself suddenly engulfed & stuck in a huge water puddle. Trying to get out, to no avail, her car is sunk & she eventually has to get out & start swimming. Driver’s View by AutoTrader.com is the first automotive app to be released for Leap Motion. The Leap Motion Controller creates a 3-D interaction zone around a user’s computer, allowing actions on the screen to be precisely controlled through natural hand and finger movements in the air. The Driver’s View app gives users a three-dimensional sense of walking around the exterior of a new vehicle and sitting in the driver’s seat, all controlled by a series of simple hand movements in front of their computer screen.

What will it take for drivers to stop texting behind the wheel? Car-buying platform Edmunds.com believes that a gentle reminder from a loved one could do the trick.
Developers of the award-winning Edmunds app recently broke from their usual work to produce “DrivePromise by Edmunds,” a free app that allows Apple Watch and iPhone owners to make and keep a promise to focus on the road while driving. When the device detects that it is in a moving vehicle, it pops up an uploaded photo of a loved one along with a reminder to drive safely. The app keeps count of all of the user’s safe drives to share with friends and family.

Findings from continued clinical studies of investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) therapy, CTL019, demonstrate its potential role in the treatment of certain types of lymphocytic leukemia. In one long-term study of pediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), results showed that 36 of 39 pediatric patients with relapsed/refractory (r/r) ALL, or 92%, experienced complete remissions (CR) with CTL0191.
