Four-time PGA TOUR winner Tim Herron is teaming up with Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc., a subsidiary of Endo International plc (NASDAQ: ENDP), Damon Adamany, MD, of The CORE Institute and the Facts on Hand campaign to educate adults about one of the more common hand conditions. The campaign is raising awareness of Dupuytren’s Contracture, a progressive, potentially disfiguring hand condition affecting a layer of tissue underneath the palms that can cause one or more fingers to move into a bent position so they cannot be straightened. Dupuytren’s Contracture, sometimes referred to as “Viking Disease,” can make everyday tasks difficult, such as grabbing an object at home, or in Tim Herron’s case, a nine iron from his golf bag. Many people live with the disease without being diagnosed because they mistakenly assume they have arthritis or another hand condition. And because Dupuytren’s Contracture may progress slowly, people may not pay attention to it until they can no longer straighten their fingers, complicating everyday activities. For the busy, urban pet owner, it can sometimes be difficult to provide the structure, time and care pets need to thrive. Since city-dwelling pet owners face different challenges than their suburban counterparts, PetSafe® brand has compiled a line of products that cater to downtown dogs, cats and their owners. The line includes products designed to help urban pet owners automatically feed their pet on time, create safe zones in small living areas, improve morning walks and please neighbors with less barking. “Pets bring so much joy to our lives, but caring for a pet while living in a smaller, urban space can be somewhat tricky, especially if you’re lacking some of the amenities that are more common among suburban living,” said Willie Wallace, CEO of Radio Systems® Corporation, makers of PetSafe branded product. “With so many products available on the market today, it’s difficult to determine which best suit your lifestyle and needs. Our goal is to simplify the pet ownership process by compiling a go-to resource of the top products for downtown living.” To view the multimedia release go to: http://www.multivu.com/players/English/7827753-petsafe-urban-pet-owners/

The world’s most romantic city, Paris, has been named the most expensive city in the world for a Club Sandwich, according to research released today by Hotels.com. The classic chicken, bacon, egg, lettuce and mayo sandwich, available in hotels the world over, has been used as a measure of affordability by the hotel expert. The Club Sandwich Index (CSI) will give holiday-makers an indication of the costs associated with their holiday destination, using one of the most common items on any hotel menu around the world as a barometer. The CSI average price has been calculated by taking the real prices paid by guests for a Club Sandwich in 30 hotels in the capital or major city of each country measured. For negotiators at the Paris climate conference (COP21) to successfully advance global efforts to reduce carbon emissions, nations must embrace a prominent role for nuclear energy. The Obama administration highlighted the crucial role of nuclear energy when it convened a White House Summit on Nuclear Energy earlier this month. “As America leads the global transition to a low-carbon economy, the continued development of new and advanced nuclear technologies along with support for currently operating nuclear power plants is an important component of our clean energy strategy,” a White House fact sheet developed for the summit states. Many environmentalists are also giving nuclear energy a second look, as they seek practical solutions to constrain carbon emissions. Nuclear energy facilities provide 63 percent of America’s zero-carbon electricity. Globally, nuclear power plants provide one-third of all zero-carbon electricity. One of nuclear energy’s major advantages relative to other low-carbon energy sources is its unique ability to produce large-scale electricity around-the-clock in extreme weather conditions. Nuclear energy facilities don’t rely on the wind blowing, the sun shining, or just-in-time deliveries of fuel by truck, barge, rail or pipeline. In 2014, the U.S. nuclear energy industry’s average capacity factor—a common measure of efficiency and reliability—was 92 percent.
