More than 5,000 Domino’s Pizza spectators cheered as Pali Grewal triumphed as the 2014 World’s Fastest Pizza Maker. Grewal, a Domino’s Pizza franchise owner from the United Kingdom made three large pizzas in an impressive 32.28 seconds. That’s making three pizzas in less than 11 seconds each! Grewal won $3,000 in prize money, a trophy and the coveted title of World’s Fastest Pizza Maker presented by Domino’s President and CEO, Patrick Doyle.

The terrain is rather unusual for presenting a Dakar Rally team, but three weeks before the rally is due to begin in Argentina, Volkswagen’s racing division has descended on the Austrian village of Flachau. Even the gods relented at the last moment, sending snow from the heavens. Not the best road surface for the participants of the desert rally, which starts on 1 January 2010, to practise on, but certainly ideal for the team presentation. A fantastic atmosphere and plenty of fun are definitely what count for that.

Am Rande der New York International Auto Show stellt Volkswagen of America den Rallycross-Beetle mit Allradantrieb vor, dessen TSI-Motor mehr als 560 PS (412 kW) leistet. Volkswagen of America hat sich für dieses Projekt mit dem US-Rennsport-Spezialisten Andretti Autosport zum Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross Team zusammengeschlossen, das zwei Global Rallycross (GRC) Fahrzeuge für die Rennfahrer Tanner Foust und Scott Speed stellt. Das Team startet die Saison zunächst mit zwei modifizierten Polos auf der Bodengruppe des 2013 World Rally Championship-Siegerautos. Rallycross gehört zu den Motorsport-Disziplinen in Amerika, deren Fangemeinde am rasantesten wächst - sowohl in Besucherzahlen als auch in Bezug auf TV-Einschaltquoten.
