The innovation is the latest step in the growing trend of consumers drawn to “place messaging,” which offers a convenient way to interact with businesses via text in the same way that they do with friends and family.

According to the Epocrates 2014 Mobile Trends Report, the presence of “digital omnivores,” a clinician regularly using digital devices including tablets, smartphones and computers, was 41 percent in 2014 and was predicted to increase to 74 percent in 2015. One of the biggest surges was expected to come from tablet usage, going from 45 percent in 2014 to 80 percent in 2015. Albinos can face severe skin problems, such as skin cancer, caused by UV light and sun exposure due to the lack of melanin in their skin. The mobile surgery clinics are able to travel to the Archipelago of San Blas, a community that often shuns medical treatment and avoids protective measures against skin cancer.
