Discovery en Español welcomes the new year with adrenaline-filled premieres on its popular programming block ‘Jueves de Aventura,’ highlighting the original production DESAFÍO X 2: MÉXICO, where two survival experts from Colombia and México, will test their skills in inhospitable territories of Chiapas, Veracruz and Puebla. DESAFÍO X 2: MÉXICO premieres January 12 and will air on Thursdays at 11PM E/P. Each of the six episodes will feature Colombian adventurer Daniel Tirado and Mexican army veteran Alberto Pegueros surviving in extremely remote wild Aztec lands and putting their skills and knowledge into practice in order to make their way back to civilization safe and sound. Together, they have to avoid danger, predators, and find food, water and shelter. However, conflicts are not only limited to wilderness, and each man’s survival skills might not always match those of his partner, so combining techniques and living together could become the greatest of challenges for both men. From dusting and fluffing to menu planning and decorating, homeowners put a lot of work into planning an at-home gathering, especially around the holidays. But despite all the preparations, the most likely source of trouble is often overlooked. According to a recent Delta Faucet survey of one thousand homeowners, only one in five homeowners worried about plumbing-related issues when planning a party and just 10 percent consulted a professional plumber to address any potential problems. Interestingly, though, respondents reported a toilet malfunction would have the greatest impact on a party, more significant than running out of food or a major appliance breaking down. Crystal Lagoons broke the record for the “World's Largest Crystalline Lagoon” with the completion of its latest project in Egypt. Twelve Crystal Lagoons totaling 250 acres will be the centerpiece of the $5.5 billion dollar, 1,850-acre development in Citystars Sharm El Sheikh. The record-breaking lagoon is 30 acres of crystal-clear water surrounded by white sandy beaches - perfect for swimming, sailing, kayaking and more. Citystars Sharm el Sheikh's crystal lagoon get its salt water supply from wells in the middle of the desert that are otherwise useless, allowing for a tropical crystalline lagoon in the desert. In addition, the salt water used in the crystal lagoon features higher levels of purity and will be used for reverse osmosis desalinization processes, lowering the costs of water treatment. The modern cotton industry has achieved significant environmental gains over the past forty years, but it is not resting on its laurels. Around the world, scientists and researchers strive to develop new ways to grow, process and manufacture cotton more efficiently and with increasingly less impact on the environment. Identifying and implementing new technologies and practices will help the cotton industry meet the current needs for productivity and profit, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Increasingly responsible production and manufacturing are not objectives the cotton industry take lightly. As a natural fiber, the success of cotton is directly linked to the land and its health. Being good stewards of the environment requires continuous attention to reducing impact throughout every link in cotton’s long supply chain—from the seeds from which cotton is grown, to the processing and manufacturing practices of finished cotton goods.
