The Carton 2 Garden Program promotes hands-on teaching, with opportunities for building important problem solving and life skills, and awards more than $25,000 in prizes to schools across the country. The Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education, announced today that entries for the 2013 Poster Design Competition will be accepted through January 31, 2013. In an effort to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, the U.S. Army announced today that it has named the 2010 eCYBERMISSION national first-place teams. Managed by the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., the eCYBERMISSION program awarded more than $1 million to students from across the nation and in Department of Defense Education Activity schools overseas.

Today, Race Imboden, 2011 graduate of The Dwight School, was officially named to the United States Olympic Team by the US Fencing Association. After the fourth World Cup event, he mathematically qualified for the Olympics in Men’s Foil based on his high team rankings. Mr. Imboden is currently #6 in the FIE (Fédération Internationale d’Escrime) World Senior Rankings, #2 in the USA Fencing Division I (Senior), and #2 in the USA Fencing Under 19 Division (Junior).

Landmark public health campaign DRIVE4COPD announced today that Tim Wright was chosen from more than 150 entries as the winner of the Tune Up for COPD Songwriting Competition.
