EMO Hannover 2013 has proven its role as the worlds leading trade fair for the metalworking industry. Over a busy six-day period, a total of 145.000 visitors came to the fair to learn about the latest trends and developments in the machine tools industry at a showcase dedicated to “Intelligence in Production.”
The machine tools industry goes to considerable lengths to minimize the environmental impacts of the products it makes and uses. For instance, it invests heavily in special machine coolant cleaning systems that prolong coolant life and conserve energy.
Human labor is increasingly becoming superfluous in manufacturing operations as robots and fully automated processes take over. The latest technology-based production solutions reduce unit costs and are often the key to manufacturers’ future survival.
India is already the world’s sixth-largest market for machine tools, which is why it is under the spotlight at this year’s EMO Hannover fair. Metal certainly seems to be among the hard factors underlying the positive outlook for the Asian subcontinent.
