Thousands of teens from more than 3,200 high schools across the U.S. and Canada are committing to safe driving as part of the State Farm Celebrate My Drive® program. During Teen Driver Safety Week, high school students, staff and community members are encouraged to visit celebratemydrive.com once daily between 12 a.m. CT on October 15, 2014 through 11:59 p.m. CT on October 24, 2014 and commit to safe driving. Closing the distance from farm to fork, America’s turkey farmers, represented by the National Turkey Federation, have prepared a new series of videos and resources offering common-sense answers about raising healthy turkey flocks on family farms. Viewers see turkeys walk about freely and safely inside barns without cages, as well as learn how veterinarian-prescribed antibiotics are proven to clear an animal’s system before the meat is processed. The videos also share how healthy turkeys are raised on a nutritious diet of corn and soybeans along with vitamins and minerals, and how turkeys are farm-raised using smart technology and responsible stewardship of resources.

A year-long undercover investigation conducted by the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) at the Cayman Turtle Farm, a popular tourist destination and the world’s last remaining facility that raises sea turtles for slaughter, has revealed disturbing animal cruelty and potential human health risks.
Video footage and photographs from the farm show thousands of endangered sea turtles being kept in dirty, packed touch tanks. Swimming in water filled with their own waste, the turtles fight for food, bite each other and even resort to cannibalism. Many suffer from disease and birth defects, such as injured fins or missing eyes.

Just like people, dogs have their good days and bad days but for the 4.7 million dog bite victims each year, a dogs’ bad day can result in serious injury or even death. In 2012, State Farm® had 3,670 dog bite claims and paid more than $108 million as a result of dog bites. This is a slight decrease compared to the number of dog bite claims in 2011 (3,750 claims) and a slight decrease in the amount paid as a result of dog bite claims in 2011 ($109 million).
