Texas Instruments (TI) (NASDAQ: TXN) today introduced the first all-in-one USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery (PD) controller, which integrates a port power switch and port data multiplexer. The TPS65982 USB PD controller is the only integrated circuit (IC) available that provides the full power path, operating as a Single- or Dual-Role Port and enabling a variety of host and device power implementations. For applications requiring higher data rates, the TPS65982 can be combined with the 5.4-Gbps HD3SS460, the industry’s first USB Type-C cross-point switch. This solution enables USB connectors on either end of the cable to be flipped up or down, delivers power up to 100 W, and supports Alternate Modes to distribute video over DisplayPort from the host to the end device. Pampers, the iconic and first baby care brand to distribute disposable diapers around the globe, is turning 50! Pampers honors these 50 years of parenting by unveiling its Little Miracle Missions program, which seeks to celebrate, support and protect babies everywhere through acts of kindness to little miracles (babies) and their families, while encouraging parents to “pay it forward” and support others. On Monday, Pampers and Graham’s Foundation (an organization that provides care packages that offer both practical and emotional support for the parents of micro-preemies) began donating more than 30,000 care packages to families with babies in level-three Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) across the country, for the care of premature or ill newborn babies. Yesterday, Pampers continued the celebration by partnering with a variety of celebrity parents who have their own personal miracle stories. Actors Joey Lawrence and Mark Consuelos, alongside actresses Ali Larter and LaLa Anthony delivered the care packages to The Mount Sinai Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in New York City. The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund (“Relief Fund”) today announced that it worked with Houston-area school officials to donate prepaid $1,000 American Express® cash cards to the 5,000 families most severely affected by Hurricane Harvey, distributing total of approximately $5 million. The donation is made possible by the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund as well as by a grant from the firms and partners of Cantor Fitzgerald, Newmark Knight Frank and BGC Partners. With a combined presence of more than 500 employees throughout Texas, the combined companies have 180 employees who volunteered to effectively distribute direct financial aid to deserving families at Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center on Sunday, February 11 and Monday, February 12. To make this event a reality, the Relief Fund worked with the office of Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, along with officials and administrators from 15 Houston-area school districts, covering 200 schools, whose efforts were critical to identifying the 5,000 of the most affected families. In addition to Mayor Turner, Sheila Jackson Lee, U.S. Representative for Texas's 18th congressional district, participated in the event, along with many other local officials and notables.
