The countdown to the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games is on, and Pop-Tarts® has partnered with U.S. Olympic hopefuls and freestyle skiers Torin Yater-Wallace and Maggie Voisin to put a Crazy Good™ spin on the competition. Eighteen-year-old Torin was nominated to the U.S. Men’s Freeskiing Team this week, and is a rising star heading into the Sochi Games. Maggie was also nominated this week to the U.S. Women’s Freeskiing Team – making her the youngest U.S. Winter Olympic hopeful at 15 years old since 1972. With the help of Pop-Tarts, they’re giving teens an exclusive look inside their Crazy Good Winter adventures.

The terrain is rather unusual for presenting a Dakar Rally team, but three weeks before the rally is due to begin in Argentina, Volkswagen’s racing division has descended on the Austrian village of Flachau. Even the gods relented at the last moment, sending snow from the heavens. Not the best road surface for the participants of the desert rally, which starts on 1 January 2010, to practise on, but certainly ideal for the team presentation. A fantastic atmosphere and plenty of fun are definitely what count for that.
The celebrative atmosphere is taking over Yaowarat or Bangkok’s China Town at the moment as all the local Chinese decedents are gearing up for the beginning of the Snake Year on February 10th. Al Maryah Island hosted Abu Dhabi’s biggest New Year’s Eve celebration, a spectacular evening of music and fireworks. Thousands of families and friends filled the island’s waterfront Promenade where they enjoyed an electrifying concert with Emirati star Hussain Al Jassmi, Egyptian pop sensation Mohamed Hamaki, and winner of Arab Idol 2015, Mohammed Assaf.
More than 10,000 people enjoyed hearing their favourite songs performed during the five-hour show, which culminated in an exhilarating midnight countdown, followed by a breath-taking firework display.
The evening was a landmark occasion in Al Maryah Island’s colourful events calendar and was staged through a partnership between Mubadala and Platinum Records, the leading record label company which operates under the umbrella of MBC Group.
