Lightning may not seem as destructive as other natural disasters, yet a strike can cause serious damage to business equipment and electrical appliances, disrupt electrical service for long periods of time, and spark wildfires. In 2014, State Farm paid nearly $149 million dollars for insurance claims as a result of damage from lightning strikes.
June, July, and August are the times of year when lightning is most frequent. Even though lightning is weather-related and not a preventable event, there are ways to reduce your chance of damage from a power surge or fire. That is why State Farm has joined forces with the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS) in recognition of Lightning Awareness Week, June 21-27.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has launched a nationwide public outreach campaign – including a letter to doctors and a new public service announcement – to raise awareness about the preventive benefits now covered at no charge to Medicare beneficiaries as a result of the Affordable Care Act. The campaign will run throughout the summer, with online ads and community events all over the country starting in July. As part of the Share the News, Share the Health campaign, CMS recently upgraded its dedicated caregivers’ website Ask Medicare, including a link to prevention information for caregivers’ reference.

The Hong Kong's Basketball Championship is still going and So-U.TV filmed Match 4 in Mongkok, Saturday July 5, 2008. SCAA and Fukien are still fighting for it. Just for fun, I decided to try recording my voice and I discovered that once again I can sing through my sound system and so I'm giving my vocoloid program a break as I am once again singing the lead vocal work. I still used my vocoloid program for the backup vocals to the chorus of this song .... I love collaborating with my computer .... Even if it does terminate my voice from time to time. As long as it doesn't try to terminate me because I'm the one who hold's the hammer ..... and the remote control.
