LG and entertainment’s A-list celebrated old and new Hollywood glamour last night at the 14th Annual Young Hollywood Awards presented by Bing. In 30 days, wounded warriors collectively cycled almost 3,300 miles for Soldier Ride Across America, a cross-country adaptive cycling ride to raise awareness for veteran issues. The journey commemorated the 15-year anniversary of Long Island native and veteran supporter Chris Carney's historic coast-to-coast cycling venture in support of wounded warriors, which spurred the creation of the Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) Soldier Ride® program.
“The goal of Soldier Ride Across America was really to bring warriors together and connect warriors to the communities,” said James Herrera, WWP Physical Health & Wellness director and Soldier Ride Across America organizer. “Really it's just about creating a brotherhood or sisterhood. They shared a common goal that was an incredibly challenging distance that they rode, but really the bond that I saw develop over a shared challenge, and even a shared hardship, was something you just can’t replace.”

On Saturday, May 22, the Upper Deck Company sent a crew to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to orchestrate three very important components at this year's NFL PLAYERS Rookie Premiere Photo Shoot. First, they had to photograph each of the top college draft picks sporting their collegiate jerseys for upcoming football products licensed by NFL PLAYERS and the Collegiate Licensing Company. Next, they had to collect thousands of hard-signed autographs from the 35 participating players to be used as insert cards in the Upper Deck sets. Lastly, they taped the players answering questions about their collegiate careers and then asked their opinions on where LeBron James – one of Upper Deck's exclusive spokesmen who's considered the most sought-after free agent in the world – might be playing basketball next season.

Whoever coined the phrase, “Politics is just a game” must have known what he or she was talking about because it has turned out to be precisely that in the United States Virgin Islands, where Democratic senator, Wayne A.G. James, and the territory’s Democratic governor, John P. de Jongh, will face-off in a penalty kick-type override segment of the September 20, 2010 Legislative Session in the territory’s capital, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. If James succeeds in getting 10 of his 15 senatorial colleagues—11 of which are Democrats—to agree to the override, the amendment will become law. If he doesn’t, the game is over.
