Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, the largest water park in North Texas, prepares to offer bigger, better and wetter thrills for guests this summer heat with the opening of two phenomenal water slides. Typhoon Twister and Tsunami Surge were previewed today by media and VIP guests. The slides open to the public on Saturday, June 22, 2013.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) was held from June 20 to 22, 2013 – this year’s theme was “Finding Resolve to Build the New Global Economy”.
2013 was a record SPIEF year for the number of attendees – 7190 people attended, from 87 countries, out of which total there were 1245 media representatives. The Russian and international business community was well represented – SPIEF 2013 was attended by 176 major foreign corporations and 436 large-scale Russian businesses. Out of the companies who attended, 67 leaders of the foreign businesses, and 24 leaders of the Russian corporations have Forbes or Fortune listings. Moreover, 327 representatives of official foreign delegations attended SPIEF 2013.

The Jungle Book CGI animated series has over 100 licensees across a variety of industries worldwide. Concerns about the cost of a divorce weigh heavily on the minds of people facing a divorce, including whether or not to hire an attorney, and in the decision of who to hire, according to a new Avvo Divorce Study*. Fifty-eight percent of individuals without children cite cost as their top concern going into the divorce ahead of concerns about property division (42 percent), time the divorce will take (27 percent) or alimony (22 percent). For individuals with children, cost is second to custody concerns (53 percent vs. 35 percent), but it remained the top factor cited as to why they ultimately chose to hire their specific attorney.

180 Klassiker der Baujahre bis 1993 sorgten bei der elften Sachsen Classic Rallye für einen Zuschaueransturm. Binnen drei Tagen nahm das Rollende Museum 610 Kilometer unter die Räder. Für Szenenapplaus sorgten die zwölf Fahrzeuge aus den norddeutschen Volkswagen Sammlungen. Auch die anderen Konzernmarken waren gebührend vertreten. Prominentester Copilot war zweifelsohne Ministerpräsident Stanislaw Tillich in einem Horch. Die Sachsen Classic zählt zu den gefragtesten Oldtimerrallyes in Deutschland. Lange Wartelisten zeugen vom zunehmenden Bewerberinteresse, was vor allem Streckenführung und Publikumsbegeisterung geschuldet ist. Das, was als Rollendes Museum schließlich auf die sächsischen Straßen gelangte, kann sich sehen lassen. Das gilt besonders für die Marken des Volkswagen Konzerns, die erneut prominent vertreten waren: Ein Drittel der insgesamt 180 Klassiker kam von den Konzern-Marken Audi, Bentley, Porsche, SKODA sowie Volkswagen Pkw und Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge. Der sächsische Ministerpräsident Stanislaw Tillich ließ es sich nicht nehmen, während der dritten Etappe als Copilot in einem Horch dabei zu sein. Die drei Rallyetage führten auf insgesamt 610 Kilometer über einige der schönsten Straßen des Freistaats. Highlights waren die „Steile Wand“ in Meerane, die am 22. August während der Sachsenring-Etappe gleich zweimal gemeistert wurde, das beschauliche Bad Elster während der Vogtland-Etappe sowie die Augustusburg während der abschließenden Erzgebirge-Etappe am 24. August. Fahrer der insgesamt 14 Autos von Audi, DKW, Horch, Wanderer und NSU sowie die 20 teilnehmenden Volkswagen Klassiker durften sich wie zu Hause fühlen: Die einst in Sachsen beheimateten Marken der Auto Union hatten Weltgeltung erlangt, zwei ihrer Standorte – Zwickau und Chemnitz – waren Eckpfeiler der Rallye. Heute ist hier Volkswagen überaus präsent; in Sachsen entstehen Golf, Passat und Phaeton sowie Drei- und Vierzylindermotoren. Sie sind noch zu jung, um an einer Oldtimerrallye teilnehmen zu dürfen. Die Fahrzeuge aus dem Bestand von Volkswagen Classic zählen dagegen zwischen 20 und 60 Jahre. Lieblinge des Publikums waren die hierzulande bislang unbekannten Karmann Ghia aus brasilianischer Fertigung, die sich in diversen Details von den in Osnabrück gebauten Autos unterscheiden, sowie der „DDR-Golf“ von 1977, von dem 10.000 Einheiten nach Ostdeutschland gelangten und als begehrte Traumwagen gehandelt wurden. Dass heute Golf Variant und Phaeton exklusiv in Sachsen gefertigt werden, rundet die Historie auf eine einmalige Weise ab.
Mehr als 160.000 Besucher werden zum diesjährigen Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, der weltgrößten Schau rund um die mobile Freizeit erwartet. Das Angebot der 570 Aussteller aus 22 Ländern in neun Hallen und auf dem Freigelände reicht vom kleinen und einfachen Caravan für zwei Personen über die immer beliebter werdenden kompakten Vans, Kastenwagen und Campingbussen bis zu den Luxus-Reisemobilen. Aber natürlich gibt es auch eine Fülle von Zubehör, Ausbauteilen und Campingausstattung zu sehen. In Düsseldorf dürfte also jeder fündig werden, der sich ein Freizeitfahrzeug zulegen möchte. Höhepunkt des umfangreichen Rahmenprogramms ist der Offroad-Parcours im Freigelände, wo auch Besucher in einem der schweren Geländewagen mitfahren können.
A new online survey shows just how difficult life insurance conversations can be. Parents would rather talk to their children about drugs/alcohol, religion and politics before life insurance, which is a topic only slightly more comfortable than sex/puberty. The survey also shows parents are the primary source for initial conversations about life insurance. This topic avoidance might be one reason that 22 percent of Americans feel they are not at all knowledgeable about life insurance. The State Farm survey, conducted by Harris Interactive among over 2,000 U.S. adults also revealed a gap in Americans’ knowledge of life insurance and general misconceptions about the benefits life insurance provides to those who are insured.
