Throngs of fans lined up at Sands® Cotai Central Saturday evening, hoping to catch a glimpse of the glittering array of celebrities walking the red carpet on their way to a VIP gala dinner at Sheraton Macao Hotel, part of Sands Cotai Central’s A Night of Stars event.
Celebrities gracing the red carpet, to the delighted screams and cheers of their fans, included Sammo Hung, Carol “Dodo” Cheng, Frances Yip, Chang Chen, Wu Chun, Ekin Cheng, Chilam Cheung, Karena Lam, Grasshopper and Sandrine Pinna, along with Vincent Kok and Sire Ma, who were masters of ceremony at the gala dinner – a celebration for the integrated resort’s VIP customers. Before the dinner, the stars participated in a handprint ceremony, with the resulting handprints to be incorporated into the Cotai Strip® development’s own version of an ‘Avenue of Stars’ walkway.

Columbus businessman Scott Ressmeyer and 11 friends have started their 2013 Scott’s Ride for Miracles, a 21-day, 9,000-mile, 48-state motorcycle trek to raise awareness and money to benefit Children’s Miracle Network at The Medical Center in Columbus, Ga. The Miracle Send-Off Ceremony was held at 11:30 a.m. Friday morning, then at noon, the riders revved up their Harley engines and roared out of The Medical Center.

McDonald’s 365Black Awards will feature an all-star lineup of celebrity performers and presenters. 2013 Shanghai Tourism Festival opened on the evening of September 14. The Opening Ceremony Grand Parade, a legacy of the festival, gathered 32 performing teams from 23 countries and 21 sleek floats, providing tourists with a spectacular visual display on Shanghai’s Huaihai Road. It was the first time that teams from Belgium, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania and the Bahamas participated in the parade. Over 80 percent of the performing teams came from outside China. The 2013 Shanghai Tourism Festival with the tagline “Tourism makes your life richer” included a wide variety of events with a focus on sightseeing, food tasting and leisure.

Orlando’s future leaders are honored at Aio’s 30 Days, 30 Dreams Ceremony.
College will be a little bit easier for 90 students in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Dallas thanks to a $1,000 college scholarship and tablet from Aio Wireless.
It’s all part of Aio’s “30 Days, 30 Dreams,” a program designed to lock arms with local nonprofit organizations creating opportunities for future leaders in the communities it serves. After launching the program in Houston and Orlando earlier this year, Aio is expanding the program to Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Dallas.
