On July 28 and 29, Keep Memory Alive hosted the annual Summer Social and Rodeo at Shakespeare Ranch, a weekend of Western-style fun and fundraising including a professional rodeo event and evening with celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse and Motown classic group The Commodores. Thankfully, after a grooming Mouse quickly found his forever family, and was named America’s top shelter dog makeover in the 2016 Dirty Dogs Contest. His story stands as proof that a good bath can transform a dog’s life in more ways than one. The sad truth, however, is that less than half of the three million dogs entering shelters each year are getting the necessary grooming they need. That’s why Wahl has teamed up with GreaterGood.org to donate funds and grooming supplies to shelters nationwide. The goal: Transform more than 20,000 dogs this year to get them ready for adoption.

Matt Cogar furthered his legacy at the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® U.S. Championship, presented by RAM, besting seven of the top lumberjack athletes in the country to win his fifth straight title. The Championship took place at BMO Harris Pavilion at German Fest Milwaukee in front of a crowd of over 10,000, in a three-day Championship weekend that attracted more than 17,000 fans.
“It was so amazing. It was such a wonderful event with some tough competition,” said Cogar. “I’m thankful for my family, who mean everything to me, and who supported me in all that I do.” In addition to the glory of being named U.S. Champion, Cogar was awarded a brand new Ram 1500 for his victory.
