Since Super Storm Sandy hit the Jersey Shore in October 2012, Atlantic City has battled the misperception that the famed Boardwalk was destroyed in the storm. Due to the storm’s track, Atlantic City’s tourism district suffered minimal damage. People mistakenly believe that the damaged boardwalks and amusement piers they saw on broadcast news programs were in Atlantic City, which is not true. Atlantic City is open for business.

It all begins in a sleek warehouse where 122 percussion instruments are arranged to create a precision-driving course full of angles and straightaways. Each instrument has a tiny lever. An Ultrasonic Blue 2011 Lexus IS sport sedan revs its engine, wheels spinning as it roars to life to debut its musical prowess. The vehicle navigates the raceway, precisely tripping each and every drum lever on the track, creating a beat as it speeds by, igniting the base, snare, toms and cymbals. Through it all, the IS doesn’t knock over a single instrument. As it comes screeching to a halt, the final drum beat is triggered. The new 2011 IS has just laid down its first custom track.

Steve Scott became one of the greatest mile runners in American history by taking a strategic approach to his craft. Now 58, Scott is seeking a competitive advantage of a different sort since recently being diagnosed with prostate cancer. Scott publicly revealed his current cancer battle today at the Cougar Challenge, a cross country meet at California State University San Marcos, where he is head coach of the track and field and cross country programs.

This spring, John Deere is helping homeowners keep track of and optimize their lawn care responsibilities with the new MowerPlus smartphone application. This free app provides equipment care tips, maintenance information and other resources to ensure that homeowners feel confident maintaining a great looking lawn.
The iOS version of MowerPlus allows the user to “Mow Now” and track mowing metrics. Users can view a summary of the current mowing session with average speed, area covered and other real-time statistics. Additionally, an aerial view of the mowing path for each session can help homeowners diversify their pattern to protect turf health. The app also lets homeowners know how long it has been since they last mowed.
“Mowing the lawn is so much more than just making tall grass short,” said Kevin Duax, product line planner, John Deere. “With our MowerPlus app, homeowners can easily refer to expert tips and historical data to ensure efficient and effective lawn upkeep.”

We took the Attention Powered Car on the world's longest inattention road test and we discovered that on average our drivers lost attention at least once every minute.
The Attention Powered Car then headed back to the RAC Driving Centre where further tests were conducted to investigate initial findings from the road trip.
