The hands-on, immersive experience takes attendees on a fast-paced journey through life in the Air Guard by letting them participate in simulated challenges that replicate the real-life experiences of Air Guard men and women during basic military training, technical school and on drill weekend. Through simulation, attendees will learn how they can serve their country part time while maintaining a fulfilling civilian life, by serving one weekend a month and two weeks a year near their home. The interactive experience, which will tour state to state until December, highlights the traditional career path of a guardsman, and is designed to educate Americans about Air Guard’s dual role in serving our nation and local communities.

Twenty-two vehicles earn the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's highest safety award for 2014, TOP SAFETY PICK+, thanks to a high level of protection in crashes and the availability of front crash prevention technology to avoid many collisions in the first place. An additional 17 earn TOP SAFETY PICK by meeting the crashworthiness criteria alone.
IIHS is using new criteria for the awards this year. TOP SAFETY PICK requires good performance in the Institute's moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests and, for the first time, good or acceptable performance in the small overlap front test introduced in 2012. The same level of performance in those tests, along with at least a basic rating for front crash prevention, is required for the higher accolade, TOP SAFETY PICK+.
The Chevrolet Equinox and its twin, the GMC Terrain, are the only midsize SUVs out of nine evaluated to earn a good rating in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s small overlap front crash test, which continues to challenge manufacturers more than a year and a half after its introduction.
The Equinox and the Terrain qualify for the Institute’s highest award for 2014, TOP SAFETY PICK+. The Toyota Highlander, a midsize SUV whose acceptable small overlap rating was announced in December, also qualifies. The award is given to vehicles with a good or acceptable small overlap rating, good ratings in four other occupant protection tests, and a rating of basic or higher for front crash prevention.
Three other midsize SUVs in the test group rate poor for small overlap protection, and three are marginal.

The touring vehicles will travel nationwide through November, and visit fairs, festivals, air shows, music and sports events, including Reebok Spartan and Lucas Oil Motocross races.

Today, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) launched Access Better Coverage.org, a new website designed to educate consumers about the ABCs of health coverage and access to prescription medicines.
The new site introduces important resources to help people better understand how health insurance works and what to expect from their coverage, including a series of white board videos explaining basic insurance terms like deductibles, copays and coinsurance, and how formularies and tiers work.

Companies in every part of the nation sponsor tax-qualified benefit plans to attract and retain high quality employees. Determine the earliest date that your company can reasonably segregate participant deferrals from the general assets of the company and remit into the Plan, and document the company’s remittance process. 2. Follow what has been documented. 3. Check the remittance data throughout the year – this is crucial. According to DeAngelo, “Anything outside of the expected time frame could be considered a late remittance by the DOL and should be voluntarily corrected.” DeAngelo goes on to say that many benefit managers stumble on the perception that, according to the DOL, retirement plan remittances must be made “no later than the 15th business day of the following month.”
