A national survey, fielded this month by Olive Garden and conducted by Kelton Research, found that traditional cuisine often wins when it comes to the American appetite. Almost three quarters (74%) of Americans who eat pasta prefer the traditional pasta sauces of meat, Alfredo or marinara. Nearly one-in-four (22%) pasta eaters consider spaghetti their favorite pasta.

With the help of a compassionate fitness club owner and a personal trainer, Susan managed to lose 75 pounds over several months. The club owner, Kitty Williams of Anytime Fitness in Loveland, celebrated Susan’s success by featuring her “before and after” photos in a local newspaper ad.
Susan’s pride at being featured in the ad turned to horror, however, when Tonight Show host Jay Leno mocked Susan’s accomplishments during one of his weekly “Headlines” segments. Parents and grandparents rarely disagree about how cute their (grand)children are, but when it comes to setting up safe sleep environments for babies, the two generations don’t always concur, according to a new study conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs on behalf of HALO Innovations in time for National Baby Safety Month. The survey found that the majority of parents and grandparents agree that Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is their top concern in raising their children. However, grandparents are more likely than parents to place babies on their sides or stomachs to sleep, and more likely to place potentially dangerous objects in babies’ cribs, increasing their risk for SIDS and accidental suffocation.
