This July 4th, America’s national Independence Day celebration will kick off the festivities for our country’s 238th birthday with an all-star salute led by our country’s favorite host, two-time Emmy Award-winning television personality Tom Bergeron (DANCING WITH THE STARS). Broadcast live on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, the event will feature performances by: Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Frankie Valli; Grammy Award-winning music legend Patti LaBelle; platinum recording artist and songwriter Philip Phillips; multi-platinum recording artist and actress Jordin Sparks; the world-famous Muppets; five-time Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Michael McDonald; country music superstar Sara Evans; singer-songwriter Kendall Schmidt from BIG TIME RUSH and HEFFRON DRIVE; and five-time Tony Award nominee and Broadway star Kelli O’Hara; with the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of top pops conductor Jack Everly.

Ringing out, as it has for centuries, the mission bell beckons across the hillsides calling out to the devoted. Here, where lush hillsides meet the Pacific Ocean, we pursue a singular canon—to make great wine. Canon 13 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Santa Lucia Highlands, our answer to the mission bell, launch nationwide in July to on-premise retailers.
“The Santa Lucia Highlands are as unique as the people who settled them,” says Canon 13 winemaker Tom Klassen. “Sitting high on a bench overlooking a fertile valley, the vines grow deep in the alluvial soils that cling to the hillsides. Our fruit is protected by the maritime breezes that bring with them a gentle fog, ensuring the grapes ripen evenly and provide our wines with supple texture and fragrant aromatics found nowhere else.”
Canon 13 is inspired by our geographic birthplace at the Soledad Mission, the 13th mission located along the El Camino Real, the historic 600-mile stretch of road connecting dozens of missions and pueblos beginning in the late 1700s. The steep Santa Lucia Highlands are located along California’s central coast, near the cool waters of Monterey Bay on the flanks of the Santa Lucia Range. The region is graced by warm days, cool nights, rich soil and an evening fog that nurtures the delicate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes.

Dozens of actors, musicians, sports personalities and other distinguished guests donated their time on September 11th to honor the memories of those who lost their lives on 9/11 by raising more than $12 million for charities around the world. This special event, called Charity Day, is hosted each year by BGC Partners, Inc. IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX; TSX:IMX) and Paramount Pictures today announced that Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol The IMAX Experience will begin previews in IMAX on Friday, Dec. 16, five days in advance of the film’s North American wide release on Dec. 21. Domestically, the film will open in approximately 300 IMAX® theatres and play through the film’s run at the box office.
Internationally, the film will open on approximately 200 IMAX screens beginning on Dec. 14, with several markets receiving an early window release in IMAX ahead of their wide release, including six days in the Netherlands, five days in the UK, three days in France and Poland, two days in Korea, Spain and Taiwan, and one day in various other countries worldwide.
