The sake was flowing and music was rocking in celebration of the debut of the world’s first Nobu Hotel Restaurant and Lounge Caesars Palace. Nobu Hospitality partners including Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, Meir Teper, Trevor Horwell and Struan McKenzie joined Caesars Palace in marking the completion and introduction of one of the hottest new boutique hotels featuring 181 rooms including 18 luxury suites. The highlight of the weekend was a traditional Japanese Sake Ceremony and party on Sunday, April 28 with a special musical performance by Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran poolside at the Garden of The Gods complex at Caesars Palace.

A level IV trauma center in Washington State has installed copper components throughout its facility as another way of reducing hospital-acquired infections and keeping their patients safe.
Pullman Regional Hospital has become an early adopter of antimicrobial copper after studies found that the age-old metal could continuously kill deadly bacteria.
Each year, 2 million people in the United States are diagnosed with a hospital-acquired infection and nearly 100,000 people die. These infections are caused by common bacteria such as E. coli, MRSA, C. diff, CRE and VRE.
“It is a very serious problem,” said Ed Harrich, the director of surgical services for Pullman Regional Hospital. “I think every hospital across the nation is doing everything they can to try to deal with it the best that they can. But there’s bioburden on everything and people aren’t good at hand washing and there’s cross-contamination everywhere you go.”

Last Tuesday night, Laetitia Casta and La Maison Cointreau announced the launch of the Cointreau Creative Crew in the Pompadour Ballroom at the Hotel Café Royal in London. A worldwide philanthropist programme curated by Creative Director Laetitia Casta, the Cointreau Creative Crew aims to develop women’s freedom and encourage them to make their dreams a reality. As school dismisses for the summer, students of all ages look forward to the carefree days of summertime, but many kids experience what is called the “summer slide.” Studies show that kids can lose up to two months of learning. Kumon, the world’s largest after-school math and reading program, is offering free registration at participating learning centers from June 1-30 to help students continue learning through the summer months.
