The iconic Caesars Palace celebrated Independence Day Weekend by paying homage to its colorful history of hosting amazing daredevil stunts with a night jump by the Red Bull Air Force skydiving team in front of the famed resort on Sunday, June 3, followed by a colossal 13 ½ minute fireworks extravaganza.
The festive party began just before sundown with live entertainment on the iconic front fountains. Winner of “American Idol” season five, Taylor Hicks, got the patriotic party started with his popular song, “Seven Mile Breakdown,” followed by “Nineteen”. Approximately 153,000 students across the country in grades K–12 cast their ballots in the 2016 Scholastic News® Student Vote and the results are in: Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has been named the winner, with 52% of the student vote while Republican candidate Donald Trump received 35%. Thirteen percent of student voters wrote in “other” choices, a larger percentage than in past presidential elections. Write-in votes were cast for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson (2%), Senator Bernie Sanders (1%), and Green Party candidate Jill Stein (1%), along with “Mom,” Kanye West, Harambe the gorilla, Spider-Man and “bacon.”

A lawsuit is currently pending claiming that Astellas Pharma US, Inc. (“Astellas” or “Defendant”) violated state antitrust, unfair competition, consumer protection, and unjust enrichment laws of certain states by delaying the availability of a less expensive generic version of the immunosuppressant prescription drug Prograf® (known as tacrolimus). Plaintiffs allege that Defendant’s conduct caused some consumers and third party payors to pay too much for Prograf in certain states from September 3, 2008 to December 31, 2010 (also referred to as the “Class Damage Period”). This lawsuit does not claim that Prograf is unsafe or ineffective. Astellas denies any wrongdoing.

Volvo Cars, the premium carmaker, has announced a close partnership with Google, one of the world’s largest technology companies, to develop the next generation of its award-winning in-car infotainment and connectivity solution based on Android, offering access to a wide array of apps and services. It will launch on new Volvo models within two years.
The partnership promises to revolutionise how Volvo customers engage and interact with their cars. The large catalogue of popular Android apps – developed by Google, Volvo, or third party app developers – will offer connected and predictive services in and around the car.
“We are making an important strategic step with the Google partnership. Google’s platform and services will enhance the user experience by enabling more personalisation possibilities, while Android will offer increased flexibility from a development perspective,” said Henrik Green, Senior Vice President Research & Development at Volvo Car Group.
