In my last blog entry, I covered the announcement of the IBM Watson Mobile Developer Challenge. The Watson Mobile Developer Challenge is designed to catalyze mobile developers to explore the opportunity around mobile cognitive computing - bringing the power of Watson to a smartphone or other mobile device. Entrants submit proposals for mobile apps, and the finalists - to be announced at IBM Impact 2014 - will receive access to IBM Interactive Studios experts and Watson APIs in order to bring their vision to reality.

While encouraging homeowners not to take their chances when it comes to the risks of covered breakdowns around the home, American Home Shield, the nation’s largest provider of home warranties, is giving homeowners the chance to upgrade kitchen or laundry appliances through its “You Pick Three” sweepstakes.
Now through November 30, two lucky winners will be chosen to receive their choice of three GE appliances valued at up to $5,000 retail value, plus $200 towards installation.

At a culminating event in Fort Worth, Habitat and Lowe’s will revitalize 58 homes and string holiday lighting with 19 families, while celebrating surpassing that goal and bringing the joy of experiencing holiday traditions in the comfort of their homes to families in more than 300 communities nationwide.
