The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), is hosting a panel discussion today on the fast-evolving practice of fat grafting, and how surgeons are discovering best practices to produce the most natural looking results. Physician members of ASAPS concur that less is more when it comes to utilizing a patient’s own fat to enhance certain anatomical regions including the breast and buttocks. Further, they agree that fat grafting is proving to be a novel technique for body sculpting previously neglected areas including women’s and men’s shoulders, pectorals, legs and stomachs to create definition.

Silk and fragrance have long been entwined in Japanese culture. In earlier days, silk garments were imbued with aromatic blends, which would fuse with the warmth of the skin to release a sensual and inviting scent. Both men and women took pleasure in this intimate tradition, and silk and fragrance were inseparable for the creation of a truly personal scent.
SENSAI’s first fragrance, SENSAI THE SILK, is a modern day interpretation of this traditional olfactory wisdom. Like the words to a poem or the lyrics to a song, when SENSAI THE SILK embraces the skin it manifests into a poetic scent to tell the tale of the woman’s beautiful life.

Imagine being diagnosed with one of the most rare and aggressive forms of breast cancer, given a five percent chance to live and told having children will never be an option. Southern California local Kommah McDowell was told just that— and then she went to City of Hope.
It is estimated that almost 40 percent of men and women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer sometime during their lifetime. Kommah, who was diagnosed at age 29, now has her health and her son, thanks to discoveries made at City of Hope, where scientists and doctors turn laboratory breakthroughs into treatments that defeat cancer.
Today, the nonprofit research and comprehensive cancer center near Los Angeles is rolling out a new initiative that builds on its legacy of discovery to let people know that City of Hope not only offers a uniquely patient-centric, integrated approach to care, but also with the help of donors and volunteers, it is pursuing research that will change the future of medicine.
