Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, Ohio’s first full-service casino, officially opened its doors to the public the evening of Monday, May 14.
Horseshoe Cleveland was developed by Rock Ohio Caesars LLC (ROC), a joint venture between Rock Gaming LLC and Caesars Entertainment Corporation (NASDAQ: CZR). Caesars Entertainment manages the casino’s day-to-day operations. Horseshoe Cleveland is a full member in Total Rewards, Caesars Entertainment’s loyalty program.
The grand-opening event was attended by Gary Loveman, chairman, CEO and president of Caesars Entertainment Corporation; Dan Gilbert, chairman of Rock Gaming; Marcus Glover, general manager and senior vice president of Horseshoe Cleveland; Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson; and many others. More than 4,000 members of the public lined up for hours to be the first to experience downtown Cleveland’s newest world-class entertainment destination.

In celebration of giving away $1 million a week at its Tunica, Mississippi, casinos beginning next Saturday, Caesars Entertainment, with the assistance of illusionist Rob Lake, Friday night made an Armored Truck appear in the courtyard of FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn., just a few feet off world-famous Beale Street. Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and PH Towers Westgate are the latest Harrah’s Entertainment hotels in Las Vegas to take a stand against resort fees. The resorts join Caesars Palace, Harrah’s Las Vegas, Paris Las Vegas, Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino, Flamingo Las Vegas, Bally’s Las Vegas, Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon and Imperial Palace as official “no resort fee zones.” The announcement was commemorated by Holly Madison, star of Holly’s World and Planet Hollywood’s “Peepshow,” in an unveiling of $12 million in cash, the amount of money spent last month on resort fees by visitors of the Las Vegas Strip.

Doctors at Children’s Hospital Boston are just another step closer to securing a cure for sickle cell disease thanks to a little help from some superstar friends. More than $1 million was raised in support of their research efforts on Sunday, January 15 during the “Play Without Pain: Children’s Sickle Cell Benefit,” a partnership with international megastar Celine Dion, Caesars Entertainment, AEG Live and Children’s Hospital Boston. Held at Caesars Palace, the evening included a performance of Celine Dion’s glamorous show directed by Grammy Awards producer Ken Ehrlich, including a touching tribute to sickle cell victims during her rendition of Billy Joel’s “Lullabye.”

Horseshoe Casino Baltimore celebrated its grand opening in style with a star-studded celebration to welcome Baltimore’s most influential citizens to Charm City’s newest attraction.
The opening night festivities began with a special gathering for dignitaries in the casino’s outdoor entertainment plaza and included remarks from Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley and the Mayor of Baltimore Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
