New research published in the September issue of the British Journal of Nutrition and featured in the just released Global Phytonutrient Report highlights a significant shortfall in fruit and vegetable consumption in people’s diets around the world. Commissioned by the Nutrilite Health Institute of Amway, the research finds the majority of adults worldwide would have to at least double their current consumption of fruits and vegetables to meet the World Health Organization’s minimum recommendation of five servings (400 grams) per day. Additionally, the vast majority of adults worldwide – 60 to 87 percent across 13 geographic diet regions – are falling short of this recommendation and missing out on crucial nutrition and health benefits.

Weight is a heavy topic for millions of Americans – an estimated 69 percent are overweight. Eating right and staying active are cornerstones of health and wellness – and top-of-mind for those who know that weight management is a lifestyle not a fad. Yet hectic schedules, limited convenient options and diet fatigue often make it difficult to make consistently good choices.

“Want to enjoy life,” “like to learn things,” “look for adventures and like to take risks” – these traits tell the story of how Americans perceive entrepreneurs, as revealed in the 2015 Amway Global Entrepreneurship Report (AGER).
It’s an optimism that permeates the research again this year, with 86 percent of Americans expressing positive attitudes toward entrepreneurship, up a remarkable 24 percent from 2014 and a resounding 11 percent more than the 2015 global average (75 percent). Echoed by their strong desire for “independence from an employer” and “self-fulfillment, possibility to realize own ideas,” at 75 percent and 72 percent respectively, this positivity is indicative of the country’s thriving entrepreneurial spirit.
“The attitude toward entrepreneurship is not only remarkably high but significantly increased from last year when fewer than two-thirds of respondents reported a positive attitude,” notes Dr. David B. Audretsch, professor and director of the Institute for Development Strategies at the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs. “What’s more, the secondary importance of financial compensation contradicts the most prevalent stereotypes and myths about why people choose entrepreneurship.”

It’s not just external factors, such as UV exposure and free radicals, that cause our skin to age, there are also processes within our bodies that contribute to skin aging. The scientists at the ARTISTRY Center for Skin Health Research have dedicated countless hours researching extrinsic and intrinsic combatants of the skin. Their findings have led to a new understanding of how skin ages and the production of a crème that can help skin act up to 15 years younger. So after decades of trying to find the fountain of youth, ARTISTRY® Skin Care and Cosmetics may have done so with the creation of Crème LuXury!

According to the Surgeon General’s Office, an estimated 10 million Americans over 50 have bone health issues, while another 34 million are at risk. One of the easiest ways to combat bone health issues is by eating a diet rich in colorful fruits and vegetables, although a report released by the Nutrilite Health Institute (www.nutrilite.com/color) reveals Americans who fail to eat enough fruits and vegetables are likely not getting enough bone-building nutrients like calcium and vitamin D.
