T. Rowe Price’s 2015 Parents, Kids & Money Survey revealed that parents are letting their kids, who are 8-14 years old, learn about money the hard way, but may not be having the appropriate financial conversations to help guide their decisions. Additionally, the survey found that a growing number of parents think that it is appropriate for schools to teach financial education, and three-quarters of parents think there should be a personal finance requirement to graduate high school. Despite spring’s warmer weather, longer days and greener lawns, a new survey from TruGreen indicates that the majority of Americans may not be living life outside as much as they’d like. TruGreen believes more life should be lived outside, where we are happier, more active and more connected with ourselves, with loved ones and with nature. To better understand the trends, sentiments and aspirations that Americans associate with being outside, TruGreen conducted a national survey. The results provide insight into not only how we spend our time outside, but also how we think about our outside life. TruGreen Spokesperson Jason Cameron provides a review of the survey results in a new video. The American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity today released a new report “Energy Cost Impacts on Families” that details the plight of American households who are significantly harmed by rising energy costs. The study finds that on average nearly half of America’s households are bringing home $1,900 a month, less than $23,000 annually, and spending 17 percent of those hard-earned dollars on energy. Low and fixed income families, including minorities and senior citizens, are among the most vulnerable to energy price increases and frequently must make tough choices about what to do to meet energy costs. “No one should go without food or medication to keep the lights on but that’s exactly what is taking place in millions of households across America,” said Mike Duncan, president and CEO of ACCCE. “Regulations like EPA’s calamitous Clean Power Plan will only exacerbate the economic struggles families face, making it all that much harder to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. This administration should put Americans ahead of its politically charged agenda and immediately take action to ensure vulnerable families are not harmed further by these reckless regulations.” To view the Multimedia News Release, go http://www.multivu.com/players/English/7552751-accce-family-energy-impact-report/

Watch this video by NRMA for top tips on motorcycle lane filtering, to keep you safe and moving on NSW roads. NRMA offer comprehensive motorbike insurance, providing you with cover for your bike against any accidental damage, collision or crashes. In NSW, lane filtering became legal as of the 1st July 2014. In heavy traffic on multi-lane roads, riders often filter between the lanes. It can be an efficient way to road your motorcycle when done correctly. 1. When you are lane-filtering look out for drivers on both sides. 2. Watch for body language as an indication that they are about to change lanes. 3. Get your speed right. While it may be legal to travel at 30km an hour, it may not be safe to do so. 4. Never ride to the left of a vehicle; it puts you at risk of a collision with a vehicle entering a driveway. 5. Be aware of circumstances where it is still illegal to filter lanes, this includes active school zones. Accidents happen and if you ride a motorbike or scooter then a motorcycle insurance policy could cover someone else’s property and your motorcycle, should you have an accident. http://www.nrma.com.au/motorcycle-insurance

The upcoming unveiling of the Environmental Protection Agency's plan to impose new far-reaching regulations on emissions of existing power plants promises to bring unwelcome increases in electricity prices for consumers and businesses, warns the National Mining Association. "This plan is all pain and no gain," said Luke Popovich, vice president of communications for the National Mining Association." That's why state leaders across the country are coming to the same conclusion— that we should not sacrifice our power system to an unworkable plan built on a faulty interpretation of the law."
