Die Abgasuntersuchung (AU) ist in ihrer aktuellen Form nicht geeignet, um Fehler in der Abgasreinigung verlässlich aufzudecken und unnötige und vermeidbare Luftverschmutzung zu verhindern. Zu diesem Ergebnis kommt die Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.V. (DUH) nach eigenen Messungen und forderte deshalb heute auf einer Presse-Konferenz in Berlin angesichts der aktuellen Revision der EU-Verordnung zur AU eine rasche Anpassung der Abgasuntersuchung. Die Umwelt- und Verbraucherschutzorganisation hatte mehrere Dieselfahrzeuge prüfen lassen, die vorher die AU durchlaufen hatten. Das nicht akzeptable Ergebnis: Die Hälfte der Autos erhielt die Prüfplakette nach geltenden Kriterien, obwohl ihre Emissionen nachweislich stark erhöht waren.
