An analysis of trends by Experian, the leading global information services company, shows that mortgage originations have increased by 10 percent from a year ago. More important, a look at the most recent completed quarter shows a 29 percent increase in home purchases from the prior quarter and a decrease in the number of refinances, suggesting a sustained recovery is beginning to come from purchases. These findings and others were part of the quarterly analysis from Experian that examines real-estate trends.

According to the Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than a third of children under age 13 who died in passenger vehicle crashes in 2011 were not in car seats or wearing seat belts. Vioxx Settlement
This is an important announcement for consumers about the prescription drug Vioxx. Vioxx was a drug commonly used to treat pain and inflammation in adults with arthritis.
A settlement was reached with the manufacturer of Vioxx and will provide refunds to anyone who paid for the medication. Consumers are eligible to get $50 or more. Personal injury claims related to this drug are not included in this settlement.
The deadline to file a claim is approaching – claims must be filed by May 6, 2014.
