Exhilarating spectacles were taken to new heights this afternoon as Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil partnered with Gibbon Slacklines to showcase a record-breaking highline walk from the exterior of Mandalay Bay and House of Blues Foundation Room, 63 floors above the Las Vegas Strip . As the kick off to the 2013 World Slackline Federation (WSFed) Slackline World Cup Finals taking place inside the Michael Jackson ONE Theatre on Oct. 17, Andy Lewis, the daredevil Gibbon athlete and slackliner made famous for his Super Bowl XLVI halftime show performance with Madonna, set a new world record for the longest urban highline walked. Lewis thrilled spectators by forging a 480-ft. high, 360-ft.-long slackline, running parallel to the Las Vegas Strip, rigged from two of Mandalay Bay’s resort towers.

On November 10, 2011, Heineken brought the unexpected to the Latin GRAMMY’s by taking over the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas with a one of a kind flash mob experience celebrating Latin music. Taking the audience by surprise, the flash mob unfolded just minutes prior to the LIVE telecast of the 12th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. The crowd was amazed and delighted with a legendary flash mob dance. The video was inspired by Heineken’s latest TV ad titled “The Date,” but this version fuses different genre of Latin music in a fun-filled celebration. On Thursday, July 28, the Estate of Michael Jackson teamed up with Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil and Mandalay Bay to pay tribute to the King of Pop as they unveiled his iconic HIStory Statue. Featured on the cover of his world-famous album HIStory: Past, Present and Future Book 1, which became the best selling multiple disc album worldwide, the HIStory Statue is the third piece of memorabilia to be loaned by the Estate for display on the Mandalay Bay property.
The highly anticipated unveiling ceremony took place in the Main Lobby of Mandalay Bay, where fans had the opportunity to witness the live reveal of this historic sculpture. To welcome the piece, members from the cast of Michael Jackson ONE delivered a never-before-seen performance created especially for this event, dazzling the audience as they performed to “SCREAM,” the first single from the HIStory album. Following the performance, fans were able to meet and take photos with those cast members.
