This is one of those projects where I just wanted to see how far I could go in the direction of symphonic music. I found this to be one of my greater challenges. I think it has a unique contrast from a realistic sound to perhaps electronic. Either way I'm not going to enjoy trying to decide exactly what genre this it when applicable.
What I have here is another soundtrack style video. I've been contemplating for some time to feature some of my pencil drawings that I had done between 2000 - 2005 after all my musical gear got ripped off. Drawing is a lot cheaper and it gave me a chance to explore new dimensions in what would otherwise be mere sketching. I wanted to see how far I could take pencil work to a finalized portrait styled product in place of paints or pastels. I'm using Photo Story 3 for my video in place of Windows Movie Maker just to get a feel for something new. One thing that I have learned about drawing though is that I have a lot more fun making music.
Whenever I indulge in a new genre that I know nothing about, I do what I did here. I typed up Dubstep on Youtube and listened to about 2 hours of Skrillex. I fell asleep to it in the coffee shop so that I could absorb it in more depth...and catch up on a few zs

A wonderful musician and friend of mine has recently departed from our world and is now starting his new life under God's great care and guidance. Nikos will do very well in Heaven and will even delight the angels with his goodwill and music. "I am reaching out to you now from this world Nikos to present you with my gift of this song for you. PS my friend. I do not own a flute, nor did I have any simulated flute sounds that I could use for this song and so I came up with the idea of recording the sound of the timer from my microwave and by stretching it out, I believe that I now have a most beautiful flute sound. I've had the idea for this song since the day of the terrorist attacks in Paris but I couldn't find the time to actually work on it until recently as I've limited my amount of video watching here temporarily on Youtube. It was the only way for me to get this done. I wanted to have this song and video uploaded well before Christmas and so I had to rush this composition more so than with any other previous song I've ever written. I haven't even tested it out in my friend's car to hear it through his stereo as my main concern is always in the vocal quality here. The instrumental sections were very complex and I was making up those parts as I was going and they all seem to be fine as far as composition goes. I wish to especially thank Bethany Ann Meyer who gave me that little extra incentive that I needed to get this song finished. She's a gifted singer and a real sweetheart.
