The Denim Studio, which officially opens today, Thursday June 6, in Selfridges on Oxford Street, is the first and the largest space of its kind in the world at over 26,000sqft. Bigger than two Olympic swimming pools, or over half the size of a football pitch, the space has been conceived to address the specific needs of women looking for the perfect denim fit. Its launch also proves that the denim market – which went into decline in the late 1990’s and well-into 2000’s, is set to bounce back for good. Even the appetite for niche designer denim, with pairs of jeans averaging £220 each, is proving insatiable.

This fall, GUESS goes back to its roots with a strong emphasis on denim through innovative designs and new washes in classic and updated silhouettes. To celebrate all things denim, GUESS has partnered with four top fashion bloggers to create GUESS Denim Diaries; a series of photos, videos and styling tips chronicling each blogger’s individual style by challenging them to create five unique looks using GUESS’ Fall 2013 collection. For Spring-Summer 2016, Maison Roger Vivier has entrusted one of its icons line to celebrity Stylist Camille Seydoux: Prismick. A friend of the house, this young woman has dreamed up a version all of her own: a capsule collection entirely in denim.
Six pieces make up this perfect wardrobe: platform sandals, ankle boots, a shoulder bag, a bucket bag, a backpack and a sneaker. Camille melds her creativity with the Roger Vivier legacy. She says:
"We decided that my collection would be dedicated to the Prismick line created in 2012, which is one of my favourites. I began by attentively exploring my own Prismick bag, which is in a melting fade of black and grey. I wanted to work on the idea of facets that make up grades of shading. I looked through the Maison's archives and then I thought of denim. It's a fabric that naturally burnishes. Denim is both classic and modern, and significant detail, is very resistant."
Camille grew up in fashion's inner circle. She opened her own art gallery at the age of 25. Today, she is revolutionising the role of stylist by working hand-in-hand with couture house studios to design bespoke dresses for actresses. For Roger Vivier, she brought her own touch of impertinence: "Denim can be worn with everything and can tone down an outfit. This capsule collection shakes up the look. "

J.Crew brands has announced their continued participation in a fall denim drive in partnership with Cotton Incorporated’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ denim recycling program in J.Crew and Madewell retail stores. The drive first kicked off in 74 Madewell stores on August 12, while J.Crew's 269 participating stores started the program on August 21. Both brands have decided to extend their participation in the denim drive - J.Crew will host until December 31, 2014 and Madewell will host until January 31, 2015.
